When Nobody Wants You |
Rejection can be deeply painful, triggering a range of negative emotions like sadness, hurt, and anger. If you have ever been denied a job, snubbed by a friend, told your ideas are no good, or turned down by a date, you know what I’m talking about. So how do you deal with rejection? When it seems like nobody in the world wants you, how do you cope with it? How have you learned to deal with rejection gracefully? Saul is an example of someone who nobody wanted and still made a great contribution to the world! |

Jesus Defeated... An Easter Message |
As we gather here this Sunday morning, I want us to consider what this day was like some 2000 years ago for the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth.
It was the early morning hours of Sunday, the first day of the week.
His disciples were gathered together. In shock. In fear. Unsure of what to do next.
Just days before, Jesus had been arrested after being betrayed by one of their own.
A series of sham trials had declared Him guilty of crimes He did not commit.
He had been sentenced to die after the people of Israel chose to free an evil man while crying out “Crucify him!” to a man who had only done good in their midst.

Are You Sure About that God? |
Ananias, a Damascus believer is tapped by God to bring Saul the Persecutor to the family of God, and his response was, “You’ve got to be kidding God!” Saul is an enemy of Christianity. He’s here to persecute! Some days bring big surprises! Who would have thought that when the morning dawned today that Ananias and Saul would be hugging instead of fighting? If Saul was the must unlikely convert, Ananias was a most unwilling witness. Some people think that God made a mistake when He made them! If you had created the universe, what would you have done differently? Why allow sin in the first place? Why did God do things the way that he did? Because He loves us. Jn 3:16. Love, by definition, requires a choice. Love is risky. God’s love meant that we can reject Him! The Bible teaches God is perfect and therefore incapable of mistakes. |

The Most Unlikely Convert |
In today’s message we consider some of the presumptions that people can carry with them from day-to-day. Presumption means to pre-assume something without verifying it with facts.
We will also look at how hard is the journey from sinner to saint for the one who does not know he is a sinner, in need of a Savior? The answer: Impossible!!

Hearing God's Voice - Following God's Leading |
It is imperative that Christians learn how to hear God’s voice for themselves. Every believer must learn to recognize God’s voice and understand what he is saying. Christians who impact their world understand that their first calling is not to be successful in the business world, or the sports world, or the medical or legal professions, but to be a success in the kingdom of God. Identifying and following God’s agenda is our purpose in life. |

Planting and Assisting Churches |
Rev. Robert Rodgers is the current Executive Director of NICE. He and his wife Katherine served a number of churches as pastor in Washington and Idaho for over 25 years before taking on the position of Washington and Alaska Field Director with NICE for eight years. In the fall of 2010 he assumed the position of Director giving attention to the continued growth of the Mission through emphasizing church planting and assisting churches in spiritual growth and development. One of the means for this attainment is the encouragement and implementation of mentoring young men and couples to serve as Missionary Pastors with the Mission. A year after Rev. Rodgers’ Directorship, a new Office location was chosen in downtown Sumner, Washington which gave closer proximity to all the staff. The NICE Office is currently housed in space at Edgewood Bible Church, Edgewood, Washington. |

For All The Wrong Reasons |
As we come to ask chapter 8, we meet the most interesting character, Simon, the magician! Simon the great! A sorcerer without equal! The talk of Samaria!
History is marked with famous men and women who make much of themselves by their own power. But when Simon saw the true power of God, he saw something greater than himself, and sought to join the church.
Claiming faith in Jesus, he was baptized and tried to join the church. But sadly, as we will see, he tried to join the church for all the wrong reasons.
The church today still has men and women like this. People who have proclaimed their religion, gone through the motions, without ever establishing a relationship with Christ Jesus. People who are more interested in how religion might serve them, rather than now they might serve God. In today’s sermon, we are going to learn from Philip a useful model for sharing the gospel and hear a valuable lesson about those who seek religion for all the wrong reasons. |

When Life Gives Your Lemons |
People of the world are always looking for a scheme to get ahead so that they can fulfill the American Dream. If there is one thing we fear, it’s that our dreams will burn to a crisp. When the storms of life blow the Christian off our comfortable course... we’ve got to realize that Jesus is the master of the winds and the waves. God makes the waves and currents to carry the Christian along to an appointed destination so that we can do his will. So when life hands you lemons… get the blender out and make lemonade. |

Those Who Fail to Learn From History... |
Some of us just don’t seem to learn from our mistakes. So how can we keep from repeating the same old mistakes over and over again? That is Stephen’s question to the nation of Israel. It was his argument that the nation of Israel persistently refused to learn the lessons of history. They lived in perpetual disobedience. They made the mistake of allowing a relationship with God to degrade into ritual, ceremony, sacrifice, duty and legalism. God is much more concerned with the state of our heart than the rituals and trappings of religion. |

Today we pick up where we left off last week – The church was growing – and
both the religious and the political leaders of the day took notice – and were NOT
happy.
They had already arrested Peter and John once – threatened them – and
commanded them to speak and teach no more in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. |

As we have been studying the Book of Acts – we are looking at the birth and the foundation of the “Church age” or the “Dispensation of Grace.”
Dispensations are periods of time, chapters throughout history, that divide the manner in which God has worked to accomplish His purposes in regard to mankind.

The Big Lie |
What’s so bad about a lie? Our society has been teaching that the end justifies the means; That lying is ok as long as you don’t get caught; That truth is appropriate if it is convenient or to your advantage, otherwise a little white lie is just as good; I am concerned that we are producing a generation of pretty little liars. Our crumbling foundation is riddled with the termites of hundreds of lies, and the whole edifice is ready to fall. |

Most people see not offending others as a first step to being a good community member. As believers, we do our best to live peacefully with other believers and the world around us. However, is there a time when offending others is not only okay, but the best course of action? This morning, we are going to take a look at Peter's second sermon - one that was clearly a message to offend. |

A World With or Without Jesus |
Imagine a world without Jesus. It is a world that has never heard of the golden rule. Nor has it a clue about the immortalized saying, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” What would the world be like without Jesus? It would be barren, artificial, hollow, corrupt, despairing and miserable. And don’t forget that there would be not a church on any corner preaching the good news, shouting to a world on the fringe of darkness to walk in the light. But worse than any heartache would be the joyless religious life of the world because there is no hope of the resurrection. |

Effective Outreach |
As Christians, we are called to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ and to testify on His behalf. And our witness is even more essential than in a criminal trial, our Christian witness may affect the lives of those around us for eternity! A poor witness could effectively consign an unsaved acquaintance to face the guilty verdict before God’s Great White Throne. We Christians must accurately and skillfully bear witness to Christ so that we can reach the unsaved with the Gospel. But how do we do that? |

Spiritual Gifts |
If you disagree with me, can we still be friends? Some people just can’t or won’t be civil if they disagree with you. But there’s a difference between friendship and civility. God did not call us to be friends with everyone, but he did call us to love everyone. Civility and kindness are essential when we face disagreement. It’s important to love and respect people even when we can’t agree with them. But that doesn’t mean we have to be best buds. |

The Promise of the Father (Acts 1:4-8) |
In the early chapters of the book of acts, we discover that the Disciples got together for a prayer meeting in the upper room, waiting for the promise of the Father. On the Day of Pentecost, while they were gathered there, there came a mighty rushing wind and crowds gathered. At the same time, flames of fire descended from heaven and hovered over the disciple’s heads. What a scene! Then the disciples all began to speak in other tongues or other languages, telling the crowds about the amazing works of God!
What we need today is a powerful witness. Some of us feel powerless to affect the minds and hearts of the people we come into contact with. Fear not, faint not. This verse clearly states that the same power that resided in Peter and Paul is in every person who has the Holy Spirit living within. You SHALL receive power. Every believer has the power of almighty God pulsating within his heart! You have the power. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind! |
