John 1:35-51 "Come and see."

Let’s play “What if?”

What if Jesus had come in a contemporary setting – “in our day.”

What if you heard John the Baptist speaking along the shores of the River telling people to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

What if one day John pointed out a man walking along the shore and declared “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

What if you decided to know more – What if you approached the man, began to follow after him –

What if He turned to look at you – What if He looked at you, eye to eye, with a gaze that pierced your heart and soul –

What if He asked you, "what do you seek?"

*How would you respond?*

In this exciting section of scripture, we will see the person of focus shift from John the Baptist, who proclaimed the Lamb of God had come, to Jesus Christ Himself.

People were curious, people were skeptical, but those who desired to know more came near to Jesus,

His offer, “Come and see” would soon be followed by His instruction “Follow Me.”

Both that offer and that instruction are for us today. Draw near to Jesus friends, “Come and see” and then I pray you will choose to follow Him!
