“If you” = “I will”
This age-old equation is a foundation of many hearts and the essential motivator of many actions. Yet the biblical teaching for those who would follow the Lord is it is not to be so of us.
It is easy to fall into the trap of making idols of our preferred outcomes. As if to say, “I will apply myself proportionately in response to your application.”
There are many dangers of this view if held in the Christian view. It will shape your daily life. It will affect how you face trials. It will impact how you witness, and it will control when and how you worship God.
It is a question worth asking- “Am I worshiping the Sovereign God for who He is, or am I merely trying to use Him as a means to get my preferred results?”
Join us in this lesson to go deeper into this concern for the church and to find pure joy in worshipping the Lord for who He is!
